Dr. Ashleigh Patrick
"My mission is to live a healthy, joyous life and to help others do the same."
Dr. Patrick has always been passionate about health and wellness. Since high school, she has repeatedly sought ways to live to her healthiest potential, and knew she wanted to share her knowledge with others. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Premedical Biology from Colorado State University - Pueblo. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Rocky Vista University - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado. This was followed by completion of her Residency in Family Medicine at Saint Joseph's Hospital in downtown Denver, Colorado.

During her medical training, she discovered one of her many medical passions, osteopathic manipulative therapy. Called OMT for short, this is a therapeutic application of manual techniques to address changes in body structure to improve physiologic function. This is a practice that she continues to do today.
Despite all of this training, she knew she needed to learn more. She knew that for both herself and her patients, our modern "western" medicine wasn't enough. Our current medical system is amazing at treating acute illness, such as injuries, infections, and other emergencies. However, it is lacking when it comes to treatment of chronic diseases, including obesity, mental health, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, etc. This need to be better equipped to care for her patients led her to complete her fellowship in Integrative Medicine through Saint Anthony's North Family Medicine Residency in Westminster, Colorado. Through her fellowship, she was able to learn about the vast treatment tools available to help people maximize their health - from supplement therapy, to manual therapies, to mind-body techniques, to specific dietary and exercise interventions. With this training, she was able to fully practice what is called integrative medicine - utilizing the tools from both traditional and modern medicine, the best of both worlds! This also further helped her solidify the importance of lifestyle with the understanding that your health boils down to the decisions you make every day.

After completing her fellowship, she continued working at Saint Anthony's North Family Medicine Clinic in Thornton providing primary family medicine care and also pursuing one of her other passions, teaching. During this time, she supervised the family medicine residents, helping them hone their skills in both modern family medicine as well as integrative medicine. During this time, she also discovered the practice of self coaching, which at its core, is understanding how to hack your brain to start getting you the results you want in your life. This is the piece that takes you from understanding the steps that it takes to improve your health, to actually doing them on a regular, consistent basis.

Despite enjoying her work, patients and colleagues, she felt that call to be closer to family while raising her young family. Thus, she made the decision to return to her hometown of Pueblo, Colorado. During this transition, she felt it was the right time to truly dive in to all things that she loves about health and wellness, and thus Integrative Medicine of Pueblo was born.

When she's not working with patients or expanding her knowledge of integrative medicine, she spends her free time with her family (husband - Kurt, son - Liam, pups - Bear and Phoebe), walking, hiking, practicing yoga and reading (non-medical books).
