Integrative Medicine Consults

Integrative medicine is the merging of both traditional “eastern” medicine with more modern “western” medicine to create a treatment plan that is unique to the individual patient with the goal of finding health and wellness, not just creating the absence of disease. During your comprehensive consultation, Dr. Patrick will explore all of the aspects of your life that ultimately create your health. Through fully understanding you as a whole, she will better be able to design a treatment plan to address the underlying condition(s) or symptom(s) you wish to improve.

Possible treatment recommendations may include a variety of the following: nutrition & dietary guidance, elimination or addition of certain food groups; exercise program; recommendations to maximize sleep, sleep hygiene, sleep restriction, etc; meditation & mindfulness practice; supplements; prescriptions, including compounded medications; health and life coaching; acupuncture; manual therapies including OMT, massage, physical therapy; biofeedback; and many others.

The vast majority of chronic (long-standing) conditions would benefit in some way from integrative medicine:

  • Metabolic: obesity/overweight, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes

  • Mood: anxiety, depression, chronic stress, feeling restless or unfulfilled in life

  • Pain: fibromyalgia, migraines, complex regional pain syndrome, neuropathy, other pain conditions such as chronic low back pain

  • Gastrointestinal: reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, undiagnosed symptoms (bloating, constipation, diarrhea, nausea)

  • Cardiovascular: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, premature atrial or ventricular contractions)

  • Autoimmune: rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis

  • Women’s health: dysmenorrhea (painful periods), perimenopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

  • Other: chronic fatigue, insomnia

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a hands-on body treatment designed to relieve pain and improve function of the body. With the accumulation of injuries (both major or minor) as well as stress (physical, emotional or mental), dysfunction may develop and result in pain, sensitivity, decreased mobility, and other symptoms. The goal of OMT is to resolve such dysfunction through gently returning the body to its correct position. Patients who undergo treatment experience less pain, better range of motion and improved relaxation.

Conditions that would benefit from treatment include:

  • Musculoskeletal pain: neck, back, shoulders, hips

  • Injuries: whiplash

  • Other pain syndromes: migraines, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome

Payments & Pricing

Payment Information

Dr. Patrick is an out-of-network provider. This means that there is no billing of insurance and payment is due in full at the time of service. This was a conscious decision on Dr. Patrick’s part to allow herself more time to spend with her patients as well as to remove the anxiety associated with surprise medical bills for those she cares for.

The office will provide you with a superbill (medical receipt) that can then be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement. If you would like to inquire with your insurance company about their rate of reimbursement  before your treatment, the medical billing codes typically used are 99205 for a new patient office visit and 99214 or 99215 for follow-up office visits.

Limited acupuncture and dry needling are included in the price of the OMT office visits. In some cases, Dr. Patrick may recommend additional treatment modalities. These therapies are available at an additional charge and only administered with patient request. These therapies may include trigger point injections and steroid injections.

We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards as valid forms of payment. Patients can also utilize their Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) if they have them. When you schedule online, you will be asked to enter your credit card information to hold your appointment, but you will not be charged until after your visit. You are free to pay with whichever method you choose at that time. Please make checks payable to Integrative Medicine of Pueblo. A $25 service charge will be assessed to your account for all returned checks.

We are happy to accept patients with Medicare insurance, but the cost of a visit is legally required to be paid fully out-of-pocket and cannot be billed to Medicare. Therefore, at the initial visit, patients with Medicare will be required to sign a release acknowledging this policy. You can learn more about this policy by reading the Opt-out providers section at the webpage linked here.

Unfortunately, we are legally prohibited from seeing patients with Medicaid. Please use this link to learn more about the Medicaid policy as defined by the state of Colorado.
